Taking The Plunge!

“The most effective way to do it, is to do it.”

-Amelia Earhart

I took my sons snorkeling the other day: two little boys, nine and seven, in the big Caribbean Sea. As we were gearing up, I noticed an ocean of questions building in their eyes.

You know, the “what if” questions we ask ourselves when uncertainty kicks in. I said, “Boys, just jump in and do it. You have everything you need to be successful, the right equipment on the outside and the best equipment on the inside!”

We slipped into the water and began to snorkel, colorful sea life came into view. My nine-year old came up and grabbed my arm. “Mom,” he said, “this is amazing!” I smiled and replied, “I knew you could do it.”

Just the day before, I had been working on my 2012 action items. This has become an annual practice, at the end of the year, when I look back on what I have accomplished and begin crafting my vision for the New Year. It’s a fun exercise because I am able to use my imagination (no holding back) and write down all of my goals and aspirations, no idea is too outrageous.

During this practice, is when I notice the bigness of me, my endless potential. I can fully see that there are not limits.

All I must do is commit and get started!

You see, like snorkeling in the Caribbean, sometimes the water can seem too deep and too risky. Why take the chance, when you could fail? This is exactly the moment when we should say to ourselves, “Do it!” Don’t allow fear to drown the beauty.

Vacillating on our dreams will never manifest the true colors of our lives.

“The most effective way to do it, is to do it.”

I have big plans for 2012 and there is no reason why my vision cannot be realized. The same goes for you!

Believe that you are ready for greatness, after all, you are!

Commit to doing the work, document your dreams, create a plan, believe, and take the plunge.

The water is nice!

Today, I dive into the waters of possibility. I have what it takes to succeed. I am ready for the task and have my vision in place. I welcome the New Year with open arms. In 2012, I am ready for greatness. Today, I say, “Do it!”

“I hear you” as the saying goes! Now I just have to “do it”! I have become so complacent. I hope and pray for the motivation to alter some necessary changes. Thanks for the inspiration, Michelle!
